Assessment and Internal Quality Assurance Policy for our centre

Introduction:

The purpose of this policy is to establish a framework for assessment and internal quality assurance at our centre. This policy ensures that the assessment process is fair, transparent, and consistent across all courses and programs. It also provides guidance on how the internal quality assurance process will be managed and monitored to ensure that the quality of education and training is maintained. Our principle is to uphold standards set by our AO partners at NCFE, Focus, and Trinity College London.

Policy Statement:

Our centre is committed to providing high-quality education and training to our students. This policy is designed to:

  1. Ensure that assessment is fair, transparent, and consistent across all courses and programs.
  2. Ensure that the internal quality assurance process is managed and monitored to maintain the quality of education and training.
  3. Comply with the accreditation requirements of our awarding body.

Procedure:

Assessment:

  1. Assessment is a critical part of the learning process, and our centre is committed to ensuring that the assessment process is fair, transparent, and consistent across all courses and programs. The following procedures will be followed:
  • Assessment criteria and standards will be clearly communicated to students.
  • Assessment will be designed to measure the achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Assessment will be valid, reliable, and fit for purpose.
  • Assessment will be marked consistently and accurately.
  • Feedback will be provided to students promptly and will be constructive and actionable.
  • Students will have the opportunity to appeal assessment decisions through a clearly defined appeals process.

Internal Quality Assurance:

  1. Our centre is committed to maintaining the quality of education and training. The following procedures will be followed to ensure that the internal quality assurance process is managed and monitored:
  • Internal quality assurance will be managed by a designated person who is suitably qualified and experienced.
  • Internal quality assurance will be conducted regularly and will include the review of assessment activities, learner achievement, and feedback from learners and employers.
  • The internal quality assurance process will be documented, and records will be kept to demonstrate compliance with the accreditation requirements of our awarding body.
  • Any identified areas for improvement will be addressed through an action plan, which will be regularly reviewed and updated.

  • We will respond promptly to any feedback or recommendations provided by the external quality assurance team.
  • We will use external quality assurance activities to inform our internal quality assurance process and identify areas for improvement.
